Gentlemen,
As you prepare yourself and your family for the historic events of this weekend, consider this article on Christ’s Death and Resurrection In the Old Testament prepared by Koinonia House.
As an old friend of mine used to say, “It’s Friday, but Sunday’s a comin’!
Shalom!

The logic of Paul’s lesson about Jesus’ resurrection in 1 Cor. 15 relies on an existing and lively doctrine of resurrection embraced by 1st century Judaism (though not Sadduccean Judaism). N. T. Wright is keen to point out the biblical texts and rabbinical commentary Judaism used to “preach” resurrection (in The Resurrection of the Som of God). So, several more texts to consider. Our Lord’s claim to messiahship and death defiance was not unusual Judaism. What was unusual was Jesus’ making himself the point–the point of messiahship, resurrection, and the point Judaism. I just love Him for that!

Larry, thanks for joining in the discussion! As I would expect from you, profound insights! Gentlemen, this comment was from a dear friend who was a partner in ministry decades ago, when we were in college together.
